Our new parent directory — private by design, and built around the teams, clubs, and class years your family is actually part of.

Every LOHS family, ninth through twelfth
Your student is already on the school roster in Roost. Sign in with the email address the school has on file, accept the terms, and confirm what you'd like shared. Most families are done in about a minute.

New to LOHS this year, or transferred in from outside the district? Enter your email and you'll be walked through a short request form — an LOHS directory admin will get you set up.

The classroom was the whole world. Until it wasn't.
In elementary school, the classroom is the community — one teacher, one room, the same families at every drop-off. A directory organized around classrooms works fine.
By high school, none of that holds. Twelve hundred students. Dozens of sports, clubs, and committees, each with its own leaders and its own families. Parents don't know each other from the building — they know each other from the team. The football parents are a community. The drama parents are a community. The Class of 2027 parents are a community.
Roost is built for that. The groups are the structure, not an afterthought bolted onto a class list.
Clubs — a real home for every group
Boosters, drama, robotics, marching band, every sport, every class-year committee. Each one gets a real home inside the directory: its own members, its own leaders, its own updates.
The organizing that usually scatters across a dozen GroupMes, three Facebook groups, and somebody's spreadsheet finally lives in one place — where anyone at LOHS can find it and join, instead of needing to already know someone who's in.
The board is setting these up now. If a group you're part of isn't there yet, tell us and we'll add it.
Trusted Help — at this age, your student is the help
Babysitters, tutors, coaches, and mentors, from inside your own school community. At an elementary school, that's a list parents hire from. At a high school it runs the other way: your sophomore who babysits, your junior earning service hours coaching rec-league soccer, your senior who's good enough at calculus to be worth paying for.
List yourself, list your own student, or recommend someone you trust. One listing, and the families who actually need them can find them.
And it reaches the schools next door.Your family can extend your own listing to other Lake Oswego schools on Roost — so the elementary families a few neighborhoods over can see that your sophomore babysits. Each listing arrives with a badge showing which school the listing family is from, so it's clearly a real family in your district and not a stranger from the internet. You choose which schools it reaches, each school chooses whether to accept, and only your own family's listings ever travel.
Roost doesn't vet listings. Every entry is either self-submitted or recommended by another parent. Treat each one like an introduction from a friend: meet, ask questions, trust your judgment.
Fill the roles without the cold ask
With dozens of teams, clubs, and committees, the hard part isn't the directory — it's staffing it. Tell Roost what you're interested in and when you're free. As families opt in, each committee lead sees the parents most likely to say yes for their open roles, and can message them in a tap — without ever seeing anyone's contact information.
For game day, jobs like concessions, the ticket gate, and setup become time-slots parents claim themselves. The booster sign-up sheet, minus the spreadsheet.
Messages that go to exactly the right people
The booster chair reaches the booster parents. The senior-class committee reaches the senior families. The whole school hears about the fall musical. Nobody else gets the noise.
Everyone's BCC'd, so no addresses are exposed, and every message carries a one-click unsubscribe.
Worth being upfront about: the directory's visibility setting and broadcasts are separate switches. A family that hides itself from the directory still receives messages from the parent board — that's how schedule changes and deadline reminders stay reliable. Privacy controls who can find you; broadcasts reach every family the board is trying to reach. Each one has an unsubscribe if you want out of those too.
One account, every school, every year
If you have a younger student at another Lake Oswego school that's on Roost, it's the same login and the same family — no second account, no second password.
And accounts don't reset every fall. Your family stays put as your student moves from sophomore to junior to senior, and graduating classes roll off on their own. No re-registering every August.
Your information, your call
Your family is included in the directory by default. When you first sign in you'll accept the terms, and from there you control what's shared — email, phone, and address each have their own switch. You can be visible to everyone at LOHS, only to families in your student's grade, or not listed at all.
Privacy is enforced at the database, not just in the app. Roost doesn't sell data, doesn't run ads, and doesn't share your information outside your school community.
Questions
Is this replacing ParentSquare?
No. ParentSquare is still where the school and your student's teachers communicate with you — attendance, grades, announcements from the office. Roost is the parent-to-parent side: the directory, the clubs, volunteering, and community. The two work side by side.
What happens to our old directory?
The board has moved to Roost for this year. Setting up your Roost account is how you'll be in the directory going forward.
I signed in and my student isn't listed.
Every grade, ninth through twelfth, is on the roster. If your student is missing, they're most likely new to LOHS this year or transferred in from outside the district — request access at roost.directory/lohs and an admin will add them. You'll only need to do it once.
Am I automatically listed?
Yes — your family is included by default, the same as in past years. You choose what's shared once you sign in, and you can hide individual fields or opt out of being listed entirely.
I have kids at more than one school.
One Roost account covers your whole family. Each Lake Oswego school that uses Roost shows up under the same login.
Do I have to use the app?
No. Roost works in any browser at app.roost.directory. The app is just faster.
I signed in and it didn't recognize my email.
